Manufacturing continues to expand in many different ways. Despite the many difficulties the industry faced, many companies operating within the sector have found ways to grow. An IndustryWeek article explains different ways manufacturing is rising.

Supply chain challenges and product shortages have disrupted business for many within the industry. One particular challenge is the shortage seen in semiconductor chips. The high demand, short supply, and geographic imbalance of chip factory locations made it difficult for companies to obtain and distribute semiconductor chips. However, this past March, Intel Corp. announced plans that it would construct two new computer chip factories.
