US Manufacturing Activity Growth in 12 Months

The month of May saw increased growth in U.S. manufacturing. According to the Institute of Supply Management its index of activity from a reading of 60.7 to 61.2 between April and May. An article from ABC further explains this growth in the manufacturing sector.

When looking at the data, any reading over 50 indicates expansion. This makes May the 12th-consecutive month of growth after contraction back in April of 2020. Businesses continue to expand as the country begins to open up again. This has caused an increase in demand.
