Recently the Institute for Supply Management reported that manufacturing activity jumped to 60.8% last month, which is the highest performance since February 2018. The survey also found that optimism was on the rise, with five positive comments for every cautious comment.
According to PBS News Hour, this increase in manufacturing activity can be attributed partially to Americans spending habits shifting. Americans are spending more on homes and other projects rather than shopping or going to restaurants.
