2021 was a record year for wholesale trade. Sales numbers even beat out pre-pandemic sales. In 2019, the industry saw $6.1 trillion total in wholesale revenue. This is much lower than the 2021 numbers. This gives the sector a positive outlook for 2022, even if there are still obstacles that may arise. Inflation continues to impact the overall U.S. economy.
