Amid all the gloom surrounding the inevitable leveling off of the manufacturing sector after a lengthy period exceptional growth, a new report shows signs of a quick rebound.
According to a recent article in Industry Week, the IHS Markit Manufacturing Purchasing Managers Index rose to 51.5 this month. The increase is only 0.4 (the September index was 51.1), but it was an increase—and a surprise. (An index of 50 represents zero growth.)
